We always recommend that you book for a check-up and cleaning for your first appointment at Summerlea Dental. This allows us to assess all your teeth and formulate a treatment plan.
Using our dental technologies along with materials such as gold, porcelain, zirconia, empress, PFM, maryland and more we provide properly constructed bridges and crowns. We would love to discuss the process and material that’s right for you.
Repairing cavities with fillings is a very common practice. We use both white (composite) filling and glass lonomer filling material. Comfort and quality are at the heart of our dental filling process.
Dental implants are permanent replacements for missing teeth. They look, function, and feel like healthy, natural teeth. Most patients receive their tooth 2-3 months after beginning the planning stage of their implant. Repairing your smile is important to you. In many cases tooth implants are the most desirable solution for damaged or removed teeth. However, implants have been traditionally expensive. Schedule a consultation with us and learn about the new technologies behind implants and how you can have better implants at a more reasonable cost. Technologies have improved drastically so consider re-visiting the issue if you have avoided it in the past.

From age 0-2 Mom and Dad should be brushing children’s teeth twice a day and visually checking for any black spots or swelling of gums. At about 2 years old it’s time for a “fun visit” where children will count their teeth, sit in the chair, and learn about their mouth. At 3 years and up it’s time for the first thorough checkup and cleaning.
Wisdom teeth are usually removed between ages 18 and 25. Remember not everybody needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, it is best to talk to your dentist first.
The simplest way to describe a root canal is “a filling for the root of a tooth”. The objective of a root canal procedure is to clean out the canals in the tooth’s root and then to fill the sterile space with filling material (usually a rubber based material called gutta percha).
We make custom made ProForm sports guards. Please call or book online for impressions. We have many colours to choose from and they can be ready within a day or two.
We do almost 98% of our own extractions. For patients with complicated medical histories or deeply impacted teeth we do refer to an oral surgeon. We also offer a socket preservation procedure that can be done in conjunction with extractions to facilitate an implant in the future. (This preserves the gum line and reduces the need for intensive bone grafting later on)
The Pola Day & Pola Night treatment is a take home do-it-yourself kit to be applied to your teeth in the comfort of your own home.
